For trucks and tractor-trailer combinations with a permissible total weight (own weight + payload) of 7.5 tons and more and for truck-trailer combinations, regardless of weight, a driving ban applies on Sundays and public holidays between 00:00 and 22:00. The driving ban applies on all roads in Germany, including vehicles without a load.
There is also a night parking ban for these trucks in built-up areas from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on Sundays and public holidays.
Driving ban exemption
The exemption applies to:
transport of fresh meat products
transport of fresh milk and fresh milk products
transport of fresh fish, live fish and fresh fish products
transport of quickly perishable fruit and vegetables
empty journeys, prior to or following the carriage of the above products (not for transit journeys)
trucks and combinations which, in connection with combined rail / road transport, cover the distance between the loading or unloading address and the nearest station, if this distance does not exceed 200 kilometers
trucks and combinations which, in connection with combined road / water transport, cover the distance between the loading or unloading address and the nearest sea or inland port, if this distance does not exceed 150 kilometers as the crow flies
individual tractors that are exclusively designed to pull semi-trailers.
Holiday driving bans
By ordinance of 13 May 1985, an annually recurring holiday ban was introduced in the period from 1 July to 31 August for vehicles with a permissible total weight from 7.5 tons, as well as for truck-trailer combinations regardless of weight. This holiday driving ban applies on Saturdays from 07:00 to 20:00 on certain sections of the motorways and some Bundesstraßen (national highways). Here, too, an exception applies for those categories of transport mentioned under the exceptions to the driving ban on Sundays and public holidays.
Under certain conditions and then only in very urgent cases, an exemption from the driving ban is granted.

The provisions of the ADR (Accord europäen relatif au transport international de marchandise Dangereuse par Route) apply to the transport of dangerous goods. A number of regulations in the German Gefahrgut Verordnung Straße und Eisenbahn (GGVSE) also apply to cross-border road transport of dangerous goods to, from and through Germany by foreign companies.
A special permit is often required for the transport of dangerous goods. This special permit must be obtained for transport to Germany at the Straßenverkehrsbehörde, in whose district the border crossing point is located. For transport from Germany, the permit must be obtained from the Behörde in whose district the place of loading is located.
Transport of these substances by road is only possible if the transport distance in Germany is less than 200 kilometers. For longer distances, transport by rail or water must be completed, unless the rail / water route is twice as long.
We mainly drive curtainsider trailers so that we can load almost anything. We also have a number of mega curtainsider trailers. So we can take more volume with us.
