Holidays & driving bans Bulgaria

In Bulgaria there is no general driving ban on Sundays and holidays.

However, the following local driving bans apply:

1. Permanent driving ban for trucks with a total weight of more than 15 tons on I-15, section Tchernootchene – Kardjali.
   Detour via:
   Direction Haskovo – Kardjali : road nr. I-5 – road nr.III-505 – Manastir – road nr. III-507 – Voyvodino – Most – Tchiflik – Kardjali.
   Direction Assenovgrad – Kardjali : road nr. II-58 – road nr. I-5, direction Haskovo – road nr. III-505 – Manastir – road nr. III-507 – Voyvodino – Most -Tchiflik – Kardjali.
   Direction Mineralni Bani – Kardjali : road nr. III-506 – road nr. III-806 – road nr. I-5 -road nr. III-505 – Manastir – road nr. III-507 – Voyvodino – Most – Tchiflik – Kardjali.
2. Permanent driving ban for trucks with a total weight of more than 10 tons on:
   Road nr. I–5 between km 155+250 and km 184 +000 (Shipka Pass).
   These vehicles must follow the following route: Radnevo – road nr. II-57 – Petmogili – Novoselez – road II-55 – Mlekarevo – Radevo – Nova Zagora – road section mir – Tchervena Mogila – road section I-6 – Gurkovo – Prohod na Republikata – Veliko Tarnovo.
3. Ban on all trucks from November 1 to March 31. In case of bad weather conditions, this measure can already take effect from October to April on:
   Road nr. I-7, sweedeel Varbishki Pass.
   These vehicles must follow the following route: the Kotlenski Pass (I-4 road nr. De Rijki Pass (II-73 road nr.) or the Prohod na Republikata Pass (road nr. II-55).
4. Permanent driving ban for all trucks with a maximum total weight of more than 10 tons on:
   Road nr. II-81, road section Petrohan-Sofia.
   These vehicles must follow the following route: I-1 (E-79): Montana-Vratsa-Botevgrad-Sofia.
5. Daily driving ban for all trucks with a maximum total weight of more than 10 tonnes from 07:00 to 09:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00 on:
   Road nr. II-82, road section Samokov – Sofia.
   These vehicles must follow the following route: II- 62 – Samokov – Ihtiman
   Road nr.  I-8 – “Trakia” highway.

Prohibited exceptional transport

There is a driving ban for exceptional transport throughout the year during:

Fog, rain and snow with a visibility of less than 50 meters, also a driving ban during the night hours and during rush hour.

Summer driving ban

During the summer period with temperatures of more than 35 degrees, a driving ban for trucks and combinations with a total weight of more than 20 tons applies between 12:00 and 21:00. This prohibition applies to the entire road network.

Driving ban scheme Sofia

1. For freight cars and truck combination with a maximum permissible total weight of 4 tonnes and more, a daily driving ban in the city of Sofia from 07:00 – 21:00 in the following zone:
   Opalchenska str. – Slivnitza bld. – Gen.
   Danail Nikolaev bld. – Evlogui Gueorguiev bld. – Bulgaria bld. – Pencho Slaveikov bld. – Gen.Totleben bld. – Gen. Skobelev bld. – Opalcheska str. (the prohibitions do not apply on these streets themselves, but in the zone enclosed by these streets).
2. For trucks and truck combination with a maximum permissible total weight of more than 15 tons, there is a daily driving ban from 07:00 to 22:00 in the following zone:
   Konstantin Velichkov bld. – Gabrovo str. – Skopie str. – Nadejda kruising – 202 str. – Kamenodelska str. – Malashevska str. – Parva balgarska armia str. – Rezbarska str. – Vassil Kanchev str. – Reka Veleka str. – Alexander Ekzarh str. – Madrid bld. – Sitniakovo bld. – Peiolavorov bld. – Nikola Vaptzarov bld. – Cherni vrah bld. – Srebarna str. – Gotze Delchev bld. –Jitnitza str. – Nikola Mushanov bld. – Vazkresenie bld. – Konstantin Velichkov bld. (the prohibitions do not apply on these streets themselves, but in the zone enclosed by these streets).

We mainly drive curtainsider trailers so that we can load almost anything. We also have a number of mega curtainsider trailers. So we can take more volume with us.
